Bonds & Balloons
A set of 5, A3 size double-sided cards essential for any classroom! On one side is a clown holding a set of 25 balloons with a ‘CVC’ word in each. The balloons are colour coded so that children can ‘Speed Read’ the words in any order, or select a colour to concentrate on one medial vowel.
On the reverse side are ‘Flutterbies’ with numbers on their wings. The yellow butterfly shows bonds to 10 by matching numbers on the wings.
The remaining ‘flutterbies’ make 20 by placing 1 ten in front of the number on the left wing e.g. 16 + 4 or the right wing, so making
6 + 14. Seeing the pattern makes bonds to 20 simple.

Happy Hedgehogs
A set of ten cute, double-sided, laminated hedgehogs that actually demonstrates the concept of odd and even numbers. Each hedgehog has a number clearly printed on its side (from 1 to 10) and a matching number of worms on the inside. If it is an even number, then there are equal numbers of worms on each side and the hedgehogs are happy. If it is an odd number, the odd worm stretches between the two sides and the hedgehogs cannot decide whose it is and are therefore sad. The folding hedgehogs are ideal for hanging over washing lines or propping up in a row.
A photocopiable booklet is included.
